Warm Light, Cool Shadows by Matthew Hillier ~ Early fall is a wonderful time of year. The summer's humidity is gone, replaced by a dusty, magical, hazy light. I was captivated by the smoky sunlight which caught the edge of the rocks, creating cool mysterious shadows. I loved the dynamic shape and composition of the rocks. I wanted this young cougar to be stepping out of the shadows toward the viewer, adding to the drama of the piece.
