These sculptures are meticulously handcrafted by Big Sky Carvers artists based on my own life experiences. Each Piece comes with a copy of the story from which it was inspired. “I have held a life-long fascination with ducks.They live in the wet places that I love, they migrate thousands of miles twice each year and come in a wonderful plethora of shapes, sizes and colors.Unfortunately, America’s wetlands have been developed and drained to point where less than one-third of them remain intact. Besides being home to waterfowl, other birds, fish and animals, they also provide a natural filter for our water supply and a sponge for flood control and natural drainage. In short, wetlands are a precious resource. Duck Unlimited (www.ducks.org) has been working for wetlands preservation for more than 70 years, and has successfully enhanced, protected or restored over 10 million acres of wetlands or surrounding habitat. I have been fortunate to be part of the Ducks Unlimited family for about 20 years as a local volunteer, a national Board of Directors member, a television host and Senior Officer. It has been one on the most rewarding endeavors of my life given the importance of the work being done.
