These sculptures are meticulously handcrafted by Big Sky Carvers artists based on my own life experiences. Each Piece comes with a copy of the story from which it was inspired. “My first upland game bird experience was hunting pheasants in Illinois as a boy on my best friend’s farm. Every chance we got we hunted the field edges and cattail swamps on his farm with his shorthair and my lab. Since then I’ve been lucky enough to hunt upland birds in dozens of states and foreign countries. Grouse, quail, partridge and the others are great and I love them all. But I’m not sure there is an experience in bird hunting any more mind jarring or beautiful than the split second when a rooster bolts out of cover.
